Roblox is involved in a lawsuit concerning child safety on the Internet. On September 17, 2010, two brothers filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court, Southern District of California against Roblox Corporation and its founder and CEO David Baszucki. The suit alleged that the defendants failed to protect their nine and thirteenyearold sons from inappropriate content on Roblox that resulted in emotional distress. The suit also accuses the company of negligence for failure to monitor potentially harmful content and failure to institute parental monitoring measures. The case is known as "McDonald v. Roblox".

Community: Roblox has an active community of players. A group of these players have joined together to create a group called ROBLOX Users as Leaders, or RUL. This group has made several YouTube videos on what they expect the future of ROBLOX to be. For example, there was a video on RONT Roblox On New Technology which was released in 2013. The main purpose of this is to improve ROBLOX so that it can match the technological advances that have been made since 2012, including 3D technology and mobile platforms, such as Android and iOS.

The acquisition is part of a strategy by RoLabX to become a global gaming powerhouse with operations in China, with over 50 of revenues coming from China alone by 2021. The deal also confirmed that Tencent will continue to operate as the chief customer and user experience partner for ROBLOX. In late 2015, ROBLOX announced that they would be running advertisements on their site. Unfortunately, these advertisements were runofthemill ads and did not produce any revenue for the company itself but also had a negative impact on their community as they were being flooded with ads featuring nudity, extreme gore, racism and other inappropriate content. In addition to this, many games would feature these ads despite not making any money from them themselves. ROBLOX was banned from Xbox Live in 2015 due to the game running advertisements which violated Microsoft's Terms of Service by being inappropriate for children. The ads contained animestyle nudity and extreme gore. This was later changed however when Roblox reached an agreement with Xbox Live regarding the matter between them.
